10am Meet for coffee at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, The Holmes, Stoke Park Road, Bristol BS9 1JG

10.30am Tour Commences lead by Nicholas Wray who has masterminded the setting up of this very new exciting Botanic Garden.

Directions to The Holmes: If travelling by car: from the city centre go straight on at the traffic lights at the top of Blackboy Hill, proceed across the Downs towards Stoke Bishop. Cross the traffic lights at the edge of Durdham Down at the top of Stoke Hill. Stoke Park Road is the first turning on the right off Stoke Hill. The entrance to the Botanic Garden is opposite Churchill Hall.

Leave 12-30pm for lunch at the Best Western Compass Inn, Tormarton, Badminton, South Glos GL9 1JB

Directions: Head to M4. Travel East (towards London)

Directions: From junction 18 M4 take the A46 north (sign posted Stroud) stay on the A46 for 200M then turn first right towards Tormarton village. We can be found 250m down this road on the right hand side.

2-30pm Arrive at Landcare Tree Nursery BS 37 6SJ (only 2 miles from Compass Inn)
Coming from the A46 into Old Sodbury on the A432 (Badminton Road) turn left immediately by the Dog Public House into Chapel Lane and the nursery is situated 0.3 mile on the right hand side. Further directions will be given on the day.

Landcare Tree Nursery is managed by Mr Roger Mellors and Mr Richard Wilson. It provides high quality trees for the wholesale trade. A successful business (which is now up for sale). Our visit should provide quite a lot of interest with many desirable specimens.
